Federico Javier Winter del Río

Founder of Key Translations.

Areas of Expertise: Competition Law, M&A, Regulatory, Finance and Natural Resources.
Graduated from the Faculty of Law of the University of Los Andes within the top 10% of his class. Diploma in Environmental Law (2007), Assistant Professor of Tax Law at the Los Andes University, Santiago, Chile (2007-2008) and Assistant Professor of Master of Business Law at the Los Andes University, Santiago, Chile (2009). Developed professionally as a lawyer on Mergers & Acquisitions for the law firm Philippi, Irarrázaval, Pulido & Brunner, currently Philippi, Prietocarrizoza & Uria (2009-2012). He provided legal advice mainly in the area of Mergers & Acquisitions, but further acquiring a deep knowledge on development of energy projects in Chile, especially in geothermal and mining (publishing a study on this matter in Chile), as well as in finance, labor, tax, regulatory and general corporate. From 2012, he began working as a free-lance legal translator before creating Key Translations in 2014. He now provides an excellent service not only to the biggest law firms in Chile, but also to foreign consultancy companies, mining companies and some of the world’s biggest companies engaged in generation of renewable energy.

Alberto Ardid Segura

Areas of Expertise: Geophysics, Geophysical Prospecting, Geology and Energy.
Geophysicist from Universidad de Chile with a Master’s Degree, summa cumme laude. Did an internship in Stanford University, USA. Also, has taken part in several international conferences and in institutions such as the American Geophysical Union, San Francisco, USA; UC Berkeley, USA and the University of Auckland, New Zealand. In his academic career, he has been assistant professor in courses such as Physics of the Earth, Geophysical Exploration Methods and Geophysical Prospecting, in the Department of Geophysics of Universidad de Chile. He has acquired deep knowledge regarding geothermal phenomena and its relation with energy production. He has worked as a geophysicist in the United Kingdom in seismic exploration projects (Spectrum Geo, 2012) as well as in Chile at the Los Andes Center of Excellence in Geothermal Energy (CEGA, 2014 and 2015).

Carlos Herrera Ramírez

Associate.
Languages: Spanish/English.
Areas of Expertise: Geophysics, Seismology, Geophysical Modeling with Inverse Methods.
Geophysicist from Universidad de Concepción (2013), with a Master´s degree from Universidad de Chile (2016), both summa cum laude. He has completed research internships at Universitat Leipzig and GZF in Potsdam, both located in Germany, as well as at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Assistant Professor in geophysics courses at Universidad de Concepción, Universidad de Chile and Universidad Andrés Bello. His area of research is seismology, studying the source of earthquakes and applying inverse methods to perform seismic tomographies. He is currently studying a PhD in Earth Sciences at the University of Victoria, Canada, which has also enabled him to be actively involved in the seismology group at the Pacific Geoscience Centre in Sidney, BC, part of Natural Resources Canada.

Tom Beacham

Studied Human Rights to Masters Level at University College London (UCL), researching and analyzing International and Domestic law. He has developed skills of case and discourse analysis, which have been harnessed to ensure that the language of his documentation is both technically correct and approachable. His development has blossomed while working with content writing teams across 13 countries. During this period, he edited publishable documents from 5 continents and ensured that writers had the knowledge to produce publishable work. His understanding of the English language is thus multi-faceted. He is a director of documentary films with Loose Moose Productions Ltd. in London, as well as a trained researcher of International Law and Human rights. Tom’s CV boasts impressive qualifications as well as relevant experience.

Daniela Brandano

Languages: English/Italian
Areas of Expertise: Legal Documentation, Technology, Arts and Politics.
Daniela started her career as an editor early, working with Simon Caira on an English book in 2013 and she went on to continue editing articles written by the same author for some years. She studied Film and Italian language at the University of Kent in Canterbury, where she was able to hone her skills in translating and editing both technical and philosophical documents. Since graduating with First Class Honours in 2014, she continues her work as a translator and editor whilst maintaining a freelance career as a script supervisor in the film industry.
